Coming from Montreal, Quebec, Mamadi has quite the playing experience as one of Canada’s up and coming soccer talents. He led the Simon Fraser University Men’s Soccer Program as captain to success in his four years there. He was able to win the GNAC Conference Championship on 3 different occasions taking SFU to the National Tournament for Div.II as the only Canadian school in the NCAA and becoming a Conference First Team All-Star in all four seasons. After graduation, he was selected 46th in the 2019 MLS Draft by the San Jose Earthquakes being one of six Canadian’s drafted and the only Division two player. After his stint with the SJ Earthquakes, he had travelled to Europe, all over the USA, and of course Canada, where he has received attention from many different professional organizations and has some experiences in the game that not many have to their name. He is currently playing professionally for the Colorado Switchbacks in the USL. This experience mixed with his energy, knowledge of the game, and overall positive presence makes us extremely fortunate to have Mamadi involved as a role model and coach with our Celtic Elite Academy when he is back in the city and in the off-season and available to coach!
